Panama City Beach is highlighting a range of low-cost and free activities for visitors looking to enjoy the area without overspending. The city features 27 miles of public beaches with nearly 100 access points, allowing residents and tourists to experience the Gulf Coast’s shoreline at no charge. There is also a designated dog beach near the Russell-Fields City Pier.

Shell Island, a seven-mile barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay, provides opportunities for snorkeling, fishing, and dolphin watching. Aaron Bessant Park covers 70 acres and includes an amphitheater, playgrounds, lakeside trails, picnic areas, and accessible amenities for all visitors. Leashed dogs are allowed in these parks.

Gayle’s Trails connects several local parks through paved and unpaved paths suited for walking or biking.

Pier Park serves as a central entertainment district with attractions such as the SkyWheel observation ride, mini-golf courses, an IMAX theater, shops, restaurants, and specialty boutiques including those on the Decor By The Shore shopping trail.

On weekends, the Grand Lagoon Waterfront Farmers Market offers fresh produce and crafts in a waterfront setting with live music; admission is free.

Fishing remains popular throughout the year either from personal boats or by paying modest fees at local piers.

Live music events are held regularly at beachfront venues as well as city parks; many are free or have low admission costs.
