The U.S. Census Bureau has announced it will release three national reports on income, poverty, and health insurance coverage for 2024 during an online news conference scheduled for September 9 at 10 a.m. EDT.
The reports—Income in the United States: 2024, Poverty in the United States: 2024, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2024—are based on data from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). These documents will provide annual estimates of income, earnings, inequality, official poverty rates, Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) rates, and national-level health insurance coverage statistics.
According to the Census Bureau, these statistics are used to evaluate economic trends and their effects on households and individuals across the country. The reports also examine health insurance status by select characteristics to better understand individual well-being.
David Waddington, chief of the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division; Sharon Stern, assistant division chief for Employment Characteristics; Liana Fox, assistant division chief for Economic Characteristics; and Julie Iriondo, chief of the Media Relations Branch at the Public Information Office Communications Directorate will participate in presenting the findings. Julie Iriondo will serve as moderator.
A question-and-answer session is planned immediately after the presentation. Members of media outlets can attend via Webex by Cisco using information provided by the Census Bureau or join by phone at 888-566-5791 with passcode 1732236.
