The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens in Sanford will offer free admission to first responders on September 12 as part of its First Responders Day event. The initiative is intended to recognize the service of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics.
According to the zoo, “All first responders including law enforcement, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics will receive free admission to the Zoo, to say thank you for their service.”
Visitors attending the event can also see special appearances by local first responder agencies. The Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Department will have a fire engine and truck at the zoo between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with crews distributing items for children. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will participate as well, offering sticker badges and equipment displays.
The complimentary admission offer is only available at the gate on September 12 with proof of employment; online tickets are not available for this promotion. More details about the event can be found at https://www.centralfloridazoo.org/event/honoring-first-responders/.
The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens houses more than 350 animals and operates as a nonprofit organization focused on conservation efforts in central Florida.
