Chesapeake Utilities Corporation has announced the promotion of Michael Cassel to senior vice president, strategic development, effective January 2. In his new position, Cassel will oversee business development, external affairs, and strategic planning groups. The company stated that this move aims to improve its ability to identify new opportunities, build community partnerships, and develop long-term strategies for sustainable growth.

Cassel began his career with Chesapeake Utilities Corporation in March 2008 as a regulatory analyst. Over nearly twenty years with the company, he has worked in several roles related to regulatory, legislative, and public affairs. His previous positions include vice president of strategic development; vice president of governmental and regulatory affairs; assistant vice president at Florida Public Utilities; and director of Florida regulatory and governmental affairs.
