Erin Knight has been reappointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Board of Governors for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. Knight currently serves as president of Monument Capital Management and as division president at A-Rod Corporation, the investment firm led by former baseball player Alex Rodriguez. She was initially appointed to the Citizens board in 2021.

In other South Florida real estate staffing news, MMG Equity Partners has promoted Marcos Puente to partner. Puente joined MMG in 2018 as director of acquisitions and advanced to principal of acquisitions and development last year. In his new role, he will continue managing acquisitions and development while also focusing on investments and portfolio expansion.

The Tika Team, led by Tika Van Den Hurk, has moved from Douglas Elliman to Compass after seven years with their previous firm. The team, based in Fort Lauderdale and including Marcos Guerrero and Dr. Julian Delaney, has closed more than $500 million in sales over the past decade. They will now operate out of Compass’ Las Olas office.

Additionally, Ruben Alvarez and Karla De La Torre are returning to Douglas Elliman to join the Eklund-Gomes team. They will oversee sales at 72 Carlyle, a North Beach tower developed by Lefferts that began sales this month. Alvarez is taking on the role of project sales director. Previously, both left Elliman in 2023 for roles at Continuum Club & Residences in North Bay Village.
