Duke Energy has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Guldner to its board of directors, effective September 15. Guldner will also join the Compensation and People Development Committee as well as the Finance and Risk Management Committee.

His prior experience provides a unique lens that will strengthen the board with distinct perspectives and help drive constructive outcomes for Duke Energy, its employees, customers and shareholders.”
Guldner retired from his roles as chairman of the board, president, and CEO at Pinnacle West Capital Corporation and APS on March 31, 2025. He remains employed by Pinnacle West in a non-executive advisory capacity until March 2026.
During his time leading APS, Arizona experienced significant economic expansion. Guldner guided APS through periods of high energy demand while maintaining service reliability and affordability for customers. He is recognized for his commitment to respectful treatment of both customers and employees.
Guldner also serves on boards including the Smart Electric Power Alliance and the McCain Institute. Before joining APS, he was a partner at Snell & Wilmer LLP practicing utility law in Phoenix. Earlier in his career he served as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy and taught naval science at the University of Washington.
