Florida Chamber Foundation releases regional lists of top 30 high-demand careers

The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Florida initiative has released its Top 30 High-Demand Careers list for each region in the state. The list is based on projections from FloridaCommerce and highlights occupations with strong growth and replacement needs, offering wages at or above the current state median of $22.53 per hour or $46,860 annually.

Industries represented in the report include healthcare, information technology, education, business and professional services, architecture and construction, transportation and logistics, and hospitality. The report provides details on projected income and training pathways for each career. According to the Foundation, 15 of the top careers require a bachelor’s degree, while 13 can be accessed through postsecondary training or certification.

Through The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Florida initiative, we are committed to equipping students and workers with the knowledge they need to pursue high-wage, high-demand jobs while helping employers build and grow the talent pipelines necessary to remain competitive.”

Rachel Ludwig, Vice President of Talent Development for the Future of Work at the Florida Chamber Foundation, stated, “This list is more than a snapshot of important careers to keep on our radar. It is a call to action for communities across Florida to invest in education and workforce development now so that every Floridian has access to meaningful career opportunities that strengthen our state’s competitiveness.”

The list is available at both state and regional levels and serves as a key resource for aligning education with industry needs. The Future of Work Florida initiative seeks to raise awareness and preparedness among students, parents, educators, and businesses to ensure a strong future workforce.

The initiative aims to make Florida’s workforce the best in the nation by 2030 by connecting businesses with workforce and education partners. It focuses on aligning education and training with modern industry demands through strategic partnerships among employers, educational institutions, and policymakers.

The Florida Chamber Foundation operates as a statewide research and leadership organization focused on long-term strategies for economic growth. Its work includes improving talent pipelines, diversifying the economy with technology and innovation, enhancing infrastructure, fostering a business-friendly climate, streamlining government efficiency, and supporting quality of life across Florida.
