The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) has scheduled a Special Commission Conference for November 20, 2025, to review the proposed Settlement Agreement from Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). This agreement is linked to FPL’s ongoing rate case petition, which was initially filed on February 28, 2025.
The Settlement Agreement was submitted to the FPSC on August 20, 2025. It represents collaboration among various stakeholders, including customer groups, businesses, and advocacy organizations. The list of signatories features the Florida Industrial Power Users Group, Florida Retail Federation, Florida Energy for Innovation Association, Walmart Inc., EVgo Services, Americans for Affordable Clean Energy, Circle K Stores, RaceTrac, Wawa, Electrify America, Federal Executive Agencies, Armstrong World Industries, and the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.
A two-week evidentiary hearing began on October 6, 2025. During this period all parties were able to present testimony and cross-examine witnesses regarding both the Settlement Agreement and FPL’s original rate request.
The Special Commission Conference will take place at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee at 9:30 a.m. in the Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room.
