After four years of construction and redevelopment, the Harrison Avenue Streetscapes Project in Panama City has been completed. The project concluded with the reopening of the roadway between 5th and 6th Street on November 22. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held by the City of Panama City to celebrate the completion, with representatives from the city government, Bay County Chamber of Commerce, and CBC Construction Company present.

With these improvements, Harrison Avenue and the surrounding downtown area are now open to residents and visitors. Local businesses are preparing for increased activity during December as people return for shopping, dining, and holiday events.

As part of the changes, Luverne Avenue will become a one-way street with traffic moving south to north starting Monday, December 1. Additionally, the speed limit on Harrison Avenue from 6th Street to the Marina has been reduced to 15 miles per hour since November 21 to improve pedestrian safety.

The public is invited to visit downtown and support local businesses as this new phase begins.
