IAM District 19 President and Directing General Chairman Reece Murtagh, along with TCU/IAM Vice-President Nick Peluso, visited Capitol Hill to advocate for the No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act (H.R. 5475). The bill, introduced by Representatives Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) and Emilia Sykes (D-Ohio), seeks to expand the current overtime tax exemption to include airline, rail, and other FLSA-exempt workers.

Murtagh and Peluso, together with IAM and TCU legislative staff, expressed their appreciation to the bill’s sponsors and discussed strategies for advancing the legislation before the next tax season.

The proposed legislation aims to provide overtime tax relief to airline and railroad workers, aligning their benefits with those already available to many other American workers.
