Grammy-winning singer Marc Anthony has sold his downtown Miami condominium at a loss. Property records show that Anthony, whose full name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, sold the 8,400-square-foot unit at One Thousand Museum for $8.6 million. He had purchased the townhouse-style condo in 2021 for $11 million, or just over $1,300 per square foot.
The recent sale price amounts to about $1,024 per square foot, reflecting a 22 percent decrease from its previous purchase price. The transaction closed on Friday.
A trust managed by Anthony’s manager Charles Koppelman handled the sale of the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom residence. The property was initially listed last year for $11.4 million and was most recently offered at $9.9 million before selling.
Anamaria Velasquez of Nexxos Realty represented the seller in the deal, while Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer. The buyer is identified as Shadi LLC, a Delaware-based company.
In 2020, Anthony also sold a waterfront mansion in Coral Gables’ Cocoplum neighborhood for $22.4 million.
Anthony is recognized as the top-selling salsa artist of all time with more than 12 million albums sold globally and has received four Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards.
One Thousand Museum has attracted several high-profile residents including soccer player David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham. Zaha Hadid designed the building, which features an exoskeleton structure surrounding its balconies. The tower was completed in 2019 by developers Louis Birdman, Gilberto Bomeny, Kevin Venger, Gregg Covin and Todd Michael Glaser.
Earlier this year billionaire hedge fund manager Ken Griffin listed his penthouse in One Thousand Museum for $23 million; it is now being offered at $23.8 million after previously selling for $18 million in 2021.
