On December 31, Panama City Beach will host its annual New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop, an event aimed at families and visitors looking to celebrate the arrival of 2026. The celebration, presented by Coca-Cola, will feature two separate countdowns and a range of activities designed for all ages.

The festivities begin with a Kids’ Beach Ball Drop at 8:00 p.m. at Aaron Bessant Park and Pier Park. Organizers say this early countdown is intended for families with young children. During the event, more than 10,000 inflatable beach balls will be released onto South Pier Park Drive, followed by a fireworks display.

Aaron Bessant Park will also offer additional activities throughout the day. Children can participate in bounce houses and face painting before the evening events.

At midnight, attention shifts to Celebration Tower for the main Beach Ball Drop. A nearly 10-foot-diameter illuminated beach ball will descend as the clock strikes twelve. This moment is marked by another round of fireworks launched from Russell-Fields Pier over the Gulf of Mexico.

Organizers describe the celebration as “the ultimate family-friendly event.” According to Visit Panama City Beach, “From the Kids’ Beach Ball Drop to the unforgettable fireworks, Panama City Beach’s New Year’s Eve celebration is the ultimate family-friendly event. Whether you’re looking for early evening fun for the little ones, exciting live music, or a midnight countdown you’ll never forget, Panama City Beach offers the perfect setting for ringing in 2026 with style.”

The event aims to attract both local residents and tourists seeking a memorable way to mark the new year on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
