The City of Panama City is continuing its annual holiday tradition by partnering with Bay District Schools for the third year to support local students through the “Giving Tree” program. The initiative aims to assist 20 students, identified by school staff, who are in need of help during the holiday season.

To make participation easier, organizers have divided the students’ wish lists into 50 separate shopping options. This allows community members to choose how much they would like to contribute. The items requested include both essentials and gifts.

Those interested in participating can visit the Giving Tree located in the City Hall Rotunda, select a ticket listing a student’s wishes, and shop for those items. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to City Hall at the Ambassador’s desk by December 10, 2025.

Kristen Kennedy, Public Affairs Manager for Panama City, said: “We understand that the holiday season can bring added financial stress for many families, especially those already facing challenges. The Giving Tree helps lighten that load, reminding our students and their families that their community is here to support them.”

City officials thanked participants for their generosity and noted that every donation brings joy and hope to a student in need.
