Visit Sarasota County has launched a new winter marketing campaign called “Share the Sunshine” ahead of the peak tourism season. The campaign aims to attract travelers seeking to escape colder climates by highlighting Sarasota’s beaches, outdoor dining, and abundant sunlight through digital advertising and storytelling until mid-January.
The promotional effort directs potential visitors to a dedicated landing page that features blogs and content about local attractions, sightseeing spots, and holiday-themed events. The website also promotes VSC’s new Seasons of Sunshine mobile pass, which offers monthly curated highlights from various locations in the county including Venice, Sarasota, and Longboat Key.
Erin Duggan, President and CEO at Visit Sarasota County, said: “It’s our role to create campaigns that don’t just follow a calendar but are created with input from our local businesses and residents, and this seasonal marketing program plays strongly into this approach. Our invite to potential visitors is simple: you don’t have to suffer the cold, because a trip to our region is all it takes to take in the sunshine – and we’ve got an abundance to share.”
The campaign targets audiences in ten colder regions such as Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Washington D.C., as well as warmer markets within driving distance like Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach. It encourages both day trips and weekend getaways during the winter months. This initiative marks the first installment of VSC’s annual marketing theme “Your Season, Year Round,” which positions Sarasota as an appealing destination throughout the year.
