The Winpisinger Center will launch an Online Steward Training program starting October 1, following the positive response to its previous online education efforts. The initiative is designed for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person training at the center.
“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.
The training is available to all members in good standing who serve as stewards. It will be conducted over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two key topics. To accommodate varying schedules, sessions are offered three times per week.
The first week will address the role of the steward and their rights and responsibilities. The second week focuses on grievances and investigations. The third week covers just cause and discipline cases, as well as contract cases and past practice.
Members interested in participating can self-register for the Online Steward Training through the provided registration link or by using links referenced above. For additional questions, members may contact the Winpisinger Center via a designated form.
